You might have heard about the chakra system of the human body. The chakras are responsible for the proper flow of prana (life force energy) throughout the body. They are also responsible for taking in new prana from the universe and letting out used-up energy. As such, they maintain a critical balance that is necessary for our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health.
Therefore, it is important to keep these chakras balanced, open, clean, and active. Any disturbance in their functioning could lead to a whole host of ailments. But how do you do that? How do you ensure that such a complex system keeps running optimally? Well, that’s where crystals come in.
Crystals have been in use since ancient times for a variety of purposes. One of their main uses is to clean and balance the chakras. For each major chakra in the body, there are many crystals you can choose from. Below, we will take a look at the seven main chakras and the crystals associated with each of them.
1) The Root Chakra
The root chakra is located at the perineum of the human body. It controls your survival instincts and feelings of groundedness. To balance this chakra, you can use obsidian, red jasper, bloodstone, smoky quartz, black tourmaline, etc. These crystals can help you feel grounded and can remove fears and anxieties related to your survival.
2) The Sacral Chakra
The sacral chakra is located just below your navel. It controls your emotions and feelings of pleasure, passion, and creativity. To balance this chakra, you can use orange calcite, orange aventurine, goldstone, and carnelian. These crystals can make your life a joyous experience and enhance your creativity. They also have an uplifting effect on your emotions, which can help you overcome stress and anxiety.
3) The Solar Plexus Chakra
The solar plexus chakra is located in the upper belly (at the diaphragm). It controls your ego, confidence, and willpower. To balance this chakra, you can use citrine, amber, topaz, yellow jasper, yellow tourmaline, etc. These crystals can provide a boost to your confidence, self-esteem, and willpower. They will also keep negative and self-detrimental thoughts at bay.
4) The Heart Chakra
The heart chakra is located at the heart. It regulates your feelings of love, compassion, empathy, peace, and harmony. To balance this chakra, you can use green aventurine, garnet, peridot, unakite, malachite, rose quartz, etc. These crystals can make a person much more loving and compassionate. They can instill a sense of peace and harmony and can enhance your self-acceptance.
5) The Throat Chakra
The throat chakra is located at the throat. It controls your communication, self-expression, and the ability to speak your personal truth. To balance this chakra, you can use blue aventurine, aquamarine, sodalite, turquoise, blue lace agate, etc. Using these crystals will help you express yourself better, and you will find it easier to explain complete thoughts in a simpler manner.
6) The Third Eye Chakra
The third eye chakra is located on the forehead. It is a highly mystical chakra that regulates your perception, intuition, wisdom, insight, and so on. You can balance this chakra by using amethyst, fluorite, clear quartz, lapis lazuli, angelite, etc. These crystals will enhance your perception and help you tap into your intuition more easily. They will also give you a better understanding of reality.
7) The Crown Chakra
The crown chakra is located at the top of your head. It is a master chakra that controls all other chakras. It is also your gateway to access higher dimensions of life. You can balance this chakra by using amethyst, selenite, diamond, clear quartz, lepidolite, etc. Doing so will make it easier for you to receive guidance from your guardian angels and perceive the subtler dimensions of reality.
